Andrew Frame, The Founder Of Citizen Application

About Andrew Frame

Andrew Frame is the Founder and CEO of Citizen, founded in 2017, as an app to combine location information with 911 intelligence to keep the residents safe.

Andrew is a serial entrepreneur and expert software programmer, having founded his first company, an internet service provider, at 15. A-frame later went on to establish Ooma, a consumer telecommunications company, in 2004.

Frame spent his early career working with network infrastructure. At 17, he joined Cisco Systems in 1997 as a support engineer and was eventually recruited to the Global Center of Expertise (GCOE) team focused on routing architecture. He received dual CCIE Certifications, a top technical certification at Cisco, during his first year at the company, making him the youngest person to earn this certification. The frame was born in Las Vegas but now spends most of his time in Los Angeles and New York, where Citizen is headquartered.

Citizen

Citizen is a free app that combines location information with 911 intelligence to make communities safer. The company uses data collected from cell phones, dashcams, and CCTV cameras to provide the public with real-time alerts about criminal activities as they are taking place. Citizen enables users to report suspicious behavior by simply selecting the ‘call 911’ button.

Public Safety by Andrew

In an interview about public safety, Andrew Frame advised people to keep an eye on what’s going on around them when they are in public places. He also expressed how Citizens is working with law enforcement agencies to make everyone safer.

Frame said that the app is currently only available in a few cities. Still, he plans to expand it nationwide and worldwide, making safety accessible for anyone who might need it. Andrew Frame established Citizen as a direct response to the Champs-Elysees terrorist attack in France, which took place in 2017.

He said that Citizen does not track or record the users’ locations and it doesn’t monitor people’s activities. The app will never share any of its data with third parties without users’ permission. Andrew also stated that Citizen is part of a community based on trust, which clarifies that people are welcome to report suspicious behavior without the fear of being identified.
