Yanni Hufnagel Is A Great Recruiter

Yanni Hufnagel is 30 years old. He was brought up in Scarsdale. When he was in high school, he did not get through the basketball team. But this did not deter him. In fact, this was something that changed his life completely. Now he is on a path that is going to make him a very rich man very soon.

 

Yanni Hufnagel lives in Boston. He is not a rich banker or a doctor. Rather, he is serving at Harvard as an assistant basketball coach. His four seasons on the bench have been dynamic for Harvard. For the first time, Harvard won the Ivy League. Next is the basketball phenom that has been discovered by him. This is Jeremy Lin. This entire thing means that today Yanni Hufnagel is the hot new coach in the country.

 

There are few Jewish-American players in the NBA these days. But there are nearly 30 of them as Division-I coaches. This is because a coach does not have to be very tall or highly athletic. These will never be the main requirements of any coach college basketball.

 

One of the most promising college basketball coaches is Yanni Hufnagel today. Another one is Coach Josh Pastner from the University of Memphis, who is an American Jew too. Now, these two are going to meet on Saturday in a fascinating coaching showdown. In fact, this would be one of the few Jewish coaching showdowns ever.

 

What is interesting about this event is that Yanni Hufnagel has already been voted as the assistant coach who is going to make it big. This is because of his recruiting ability. Even Pastner is well-known for his recruiting skills. In fact, he has even praised Yanni Hufnagel saying that Hufnagel is a better recruiter than him.

 

It is nice to know the journey of Yanni Hufnagel. As a kid, he used to keep on fiddling with the figurines that he had of basketball players. Besides, he used to keep on reading coaching books again and again. He was good at playing lacrosse and played for Penn State for a season. But he was not good enough to be a part of the high-school team at Scarsdale.
