Do you consider aging as significant among all other illnesses that are currently untreatable? Probably not – it’s a natural process that we are all destined to encounter. That is what we consider because it is all that we know. With aging, comes other opportunistic infections. Things like immobility and different life-threatening diseases. Most research centers on maintaining such ailments at bay while not taking care of the cause of the problem – aging. Without aging, would that old folk suffer from osteoporosis or arthritis? The elderly that suffer from such diseases are doomed to suffer from their conditions.
A different approach is necessary, and Jason Hope, an Arizona based philanthropist, has taken an interest in a different direction – tackling the aging factor. His primary research objective is to assist individuals to live for more years by reducing the aging pace drastically. He’s doing this by making massive financial donations towards substantial research so that people don’t suffer from certain illnesses and conditions that attack the vulnerable old population. SENS Foundation, a biotechnology organization among the many dedicated towards the same initiative, received $500,000 in December 2010 as Jason Hope’s first donation. The firm was established in 2009 as a research center in organic systems as well as assert more effort into transforming public opinion of aging towards a possible different-minded future. It has diversified and extended its services by funding other like-minded institutions that have lesser capabilities like institutions of higher learning. They coordinate and organize events and conferences that target influential political figures to sensitize the public further on the relevance of their research initiatives.
Hope’s primary interest in SENS Foundation is based on the fact that they focus on a different approach to anti-aging. He has appreciated SENS’s efforts towards spotting and repairing damages initiated by aging before they even occur. According to SENS foundation, the donation by Jason Hope made possible specific research opportunities. It enabled them to continue their research on prevention of artery-cell protein from bonding. This is one of the most significant causative agents of high blood pressure and possible death in the elderly and other individuals. Also, the funds increased research on age-break medications as well as the establishment of a laboratory program in the United Kingdom.
According to Jason Hope, his main objective in getting attached to SENS foundation is because he believes that some elderly ailments are preventable. Most healthcare providers are only interested in offering medical remedies to manage such conditions as Alzheimer’s, heart and lung diseases after they have caused colossal health impacts. He believes that SENS is the ultimate key to providing the best solution to prevent such illnesses in the future.
