How Mike Baur Is changing the lives of startups using the SSUF Accelerator Program

Mike Baur is a co-founder of the Swiss Startup Factory. He started off in the Fintech business when he was fresh from school and has worked in the private Swiss banking sector for close to two decades. When he started his career, he was a commercial apprentice at a small private bank, by the time that he was leaving the world of employment to go and start up on his own; he was an executive member of the board at the same company.

He left the corporate world of employment in 2014 and together with two others, started the Swiss Startup Factory. This is an initiative that he started after realizing that there were many companies that were investing in Fintech, but did not have the right investors to assist them navigate the industry and succeed. Together with his two friends, they started the accelerator program in 2014.

The setup is made in such a manner that when a company is picked to be part of the accelerator program, they have to meet a few qualifications, starting with the fact that they have to be part of the Fintech industry. The latest efforts of the company include the initiative they recently held, to get more investors in the program. Some of the people that have joined the program include Michael Hartweg, who has been working with Leonteq. He joins the program both as a financial investor and a mentor.

Mike Baur has been investing in the Swiss youth for a very long time. He believes that this is the best way to grow the private banking sector in the country, and at the same time t o make sure that they are using technology to their best advantage. The different programs that are part of Fintech run for varying lengths of time. For instance, there is the Fusion program that runs for 12 months and helps the startups bring their innovation to the Swiss Market. The companies that join this program are supposed to move from Beta to revenues.

Mike Baur has personally been raising funds and collecting other resources to help in the improvement of the Fintech Sector. He believes that most of the people with the startups have the ideas in place, the only thing that misses most of the time, is the opportunity to showcase their innovations and the support and mentorship they need for success. The trend he is setting will be instrumental in transforming the entire industry.

Josh Verne Talks About How To Succeed In Business And Life

Josh Verne is a highly experienced entrepreneur in growing, starting, and selling businesses. He is the CEO of Flocku.com. He considers a vision as the art of seeing what is not being seen by others. For entrepreneurs to succeed, the must consider the following:

Being the leader

People should not concentrate too much on being the boss but instead to lead their business. A boss uses the title to accomplish the goals while demanding respect. The boss will also do whatever interests him. However, a leader will earn respect by putting employees before him/herself. Leaders use the respect to rally employees to achieve the set goals while working as a team.

Win-win situations

Never agree to plans that result in win-lose situations. Entrepreneurs should strive to attain win-win situations. This means the client and the entrepreneur win as well as the employees creating a big win for the whole society. Irrespective of how some situations may seem, there is always a possibility of achieving a win for everyone. The implications include business and team success resulting from skyrocketing profits and reputation.

Listen more and speak less

Entrepreneurs should use both their eyes and ears in equal proportions. Speaking less gives you more power and authority. This means that something you will eventually say will be listened to and followed.

Balance your life

Both home life and health should be in perfect balance to sustain the huge success being received. Make progress in all areas to ensure you have a healthy family, personal growth, wealth.

Find a passion

Successful business persons have a passion for something. This is something that excites them and makes them work late or wake up early. Passion ensures you have a good life.

Andrea McWilliams: Reputed as One Effective Lobbyist

There are lobbyists and then again, there are lobbyists: however, not many are as effective and accomplished as Andrea McWilliams. When McWilliams makes her presence, on behalf of her client, the legislators tend to listen.

Ms. McWilliams has a style uniquely her own. She is astute and knows how to get her point across. The preceding is evidenced by the way Andrea McWilliams is effective in getting the “word out,” about herself. Her selfless determination, on the part of her client, is well-regarded. Perhaps, the preceding is why: Andrea McWilliams serves a client base whispered as “quite influential,” and some even shout the fact just a bit louder–that is above a whisper.

Andrea McWilliams, as business person, plays three interesting roles. She is first and foremost a political consultant. She is a clever strategist–secondly; and lastly, she is lobbyist. McWilliams, though, takes all of her roles seriously, regardless of the listing sequence, presented, here.

Andrea McWilliams, suffice it to say, in her activities of a lobbyist, wishes to influence the decisions of governmental authorities, on behalf of her clients. She wishes to influence the vote of the lawmaker–and to do so in the Lobby just outside of the chamber where lawmaking takes place. It is a given: effective lobbying is necessary in order to promote change.

Andrea McWilliams, though, as her role of adviser has taken on a very important role: She almost seems to become a mind reader, when working for the client. This attribute is what is essential in “glamming” up the role of adviser somewhat. The adviser of today, and like McWilliams, is not the once traditional icon. McWilliams is a forthcoming and intelligent force, willing to present her thoughts to her client, after careful discernment and listening to the needs of that client, and in effective lobbying efforts, as it pertains to what the client wishes to change: politically.

Andrea McWilliams is an exceptional communicator; an intelligent analyst–and oh–yes–a very well-regarded lobbyist.

The company announced that the notes will mature in March 2016 and can be redeemed five years after maturity.

Kroll Bond Agency projected a stable scope of the financial industry and to this effect, gave the incentive a BBB rating. The notes would initially hold a 5.5% flat rate for the first five years and later alternate depending on LIBOR points in a period of 3 months.

NexBank stated that the profits from the oversubscribed notes offering would be used to settle their debts and also finance the day to day operations of the company. The closing has led the company to acquire over 200 million dollars which would be used to set off the implementation of the company’s expansion plans.

NexBank continues to excel under the leadership of its chief executive officer John Holt. Mr. Holt praised their success and attributed it to their versatile techniques and the closing evident of their unwavering commitment to their investors who give them repeat business.

Sujit Choudhry, Constitutional Construction Expert

Born in 1970 in New Delhi, India, Sujit Choudhry is currently serving as the twelfth Dean of University of California’s, Berkeley School of Law. Of equal significance, he is an author and an internationally recognized expert in comparative, constitutional law.

With reference to en.wikipedia.org,  Comparative law studies different laws including: common; civil; socialist; Canon; Jewish, Islamic; Hindu; and Chinese law. The process of comparative law dates to 18th century, Europe. The “father” of current comparative law was Sir Henry Maine, a British historian and lawyer. Primarily, comparative law exists for gaining more knowledge, contributing to the development, perfection and fusion of legal systems. And the significance of comparative law has grown thanks to increased cooperation between more nations, democracy, and global monetary markets.

In a February, 2017 interview, Dean Sujit Choudhry was asked about what books inspired him in his field. Those mentioned included:

  • Ely’s Democracy and Distrust;
  • Alexander Bickel’s The Least Dangerous Branch;
  • Hart’s Concept of Law; and
  • Dworkin’s “Hard Cases” despite the fact that he more closely associates himself with Fred Schauer’s criticisms of Dworkin.

Each referenced book documents theories, policies, principles of equality, and constitutional development, construction and integration.

In another interesting interview question, Dean Sujit Choudhry addressed current challenges in his field. These included:

  • Design and interpretation of constitutional changes;
  • The loss of democracy in 1930s Europe;
  • Crossbreeding constitutional development;
  • Relational analysis by the courts system;
  • Integrating approaches to constitutional writing in societies separated by cultures;
  • Transitional justice versus negotiated transitions.

And finally, when asked about what counsel the Dean would offer to the next generation of comparative legal experts, he stated “This is comparative constitutional law’s moment. We may be facing the greatest global challenge to liberal democratic constitutionalism since WWII. For those of us who live and work in the United States, but study the world, the myth of American exceptionalism has been punctured, and comparative experience has never been more important to mainstream legal and political analysis. The best scholarship will combine analytical rigor with political salience. Rise to the challenge.”
